Why mighty mOThers?

Now, more than ever, we are aware of the critical need to support new mothers during the major life transition from pregnancy to motherhood. The mission of mighty mOThers is to advocate for maternal health while providing services directly focused on the wellbeing of the mother.

mighty mOThers is perfectly poised to provide the crucial support, guidance, and problem-solving moms need for physical and mental health promotion and prevention during the delicate time frames of pregnancy and postpartum. With a master's degree in occupational therapy and 14 years of experience in the pre-hab and rehab of the body and mind, Natalie Miller is an expert in using best practices and evidence-based interventions to drive positive outcomes.

Mom Mentoring gets to the root of what is preventing mom from fully participating in her home and community to her truest potential: concerns such as pain, uncertainty with how to return to physical activity, core/pelvic floor issues, challenges with C-section scar healing, mental health concerns, and more.

As a wrap-around service, I am another set of ears/eyes that can catch changes that may pose serious health threats.

As a healthcare professional trained in occupational therapy, I am skilled in using theories and frameworks to inform my practice in order to see mom for who she is, partner with her to prioritize goals, and create an action plan that she can truly use to feel better and address her concerns.

I am an expert in function and carryover. What you, as her doctor or midwife, teach and prescribe will be emphasized and facilitated.

I look at mom's home and community environment, from the way things are set up to what resources she has access to. I check interpersonal relationships and support systems, habits and routines, and tasks and roles that are absolutely vital to her happiness and wellbeing. I see what she is knowledgeable about, and what kinds of info she may need regarding her changing body and mind.

I partner with mom to get better physical and mental outcomes from pregnancy and postpartum, all the while finding ways for mom to thrive plus bond with baby.
