Hello, my name is Dana, and I am currently an OTD student at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. I am 33 years old, and the mom of a 13-year-old black lab named Riley Marie. I chose to pursue occupational therapy as a career due to the multifaceted and holistic approach to health care. In the beginning of my graduate journey, there was no way anyone could tell me that I would not be working in a pediatric setting after completion of my program. Honestly, most of my experience has been in pediatric settings because of that. Fast forward to where I am now, and my mindset and focus have slightly changed. I still want to work in pediatrics, but I have gained a new love for maternal health care and pelvic floor therapy. Due to my love for maternal health care, I have also decided to pursue a certification as a doula and plan to become pelvic floor certified in the future. I am glad you all have chosen to seek advice and/or participate in the courses Natalie has constructed. Natalie is currently my doctoral mentor and is working with me on completing my capstone project.
