Student Bio

Hello, my name is Dana, and I am currently an OTD student at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. I am 33 years old, and the mom of a 13-year-old black lab named Riley Marie. I chose to pursue occupational therapy as a career due to the multifaceted and holistic approach to health care. In the beginning of my graduate journey, there was no way anyone could tell me that I would not be working in a pediatric setting after completion of my program. Honestly, most of my experience has been in pediatric settings because of that. Fast forward to where I am now, and my mindset and focus have slightly changed. I still want to work in pediatrics, but I have gained a new love for maternal health care and pelvic floor therapy. Due to my love for maternal health care, I have also decided to pursue a certification as a doula and plan to become pelvic floor certified in the future. I am glad you all have chosen to seek advice and/or participate in the courses Natalie has constructed. Natalie is currently my doctoral mentor and is working with me on completing my capstone project. If you are here, that means you have chosen to look into occupational therapy and/or related services and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed with what Natalie can offer you.

Thank you for reading my short bio and I wish you all many blessings in your maternal health care journey! Mommas, remember you are STRONGER than you think and you CAN do this!

Please enjoy this short video on progressive muscles relaxation and use this as your time to relax and unwind from your day!
