FAQs

What apps or platforms do you use and how do they work?

We use Zoom for our "live" or "synchronous" Mom Mentoring sessions. You will be provided the needed info to get on to a meeting with Natalie. You can use a phone, tablet, or laptop, to chat with me.

We use an app called Marco Polo for our "asynchronous," as-needed conversations. This is a free app available at the Apple App Store and Google Play (make sure you choose the free version!) that allows you to record video and audio that will not take up space on your phone. I will be able to watch and listen, and then respond to you in the same way within 48 hours.

What should I wear to my session?

Wear whatever clothes make you feel comfortable! Your session focuses on what works best for you—in order to maximize the benefits of therapy carrying over to your true environment, come exactly as you normally are.

Do you take insurance?

As a private-pay practice, we do not currently partner with insurance companies. This means there are no barriers from carriers specifying types or lengths of services that can be provided-we can focus on exactly what you need as the individual you are.

How can I pay?

We accept cash or credit. We use an online invoice system that accepts payments from major credit cards. We also use PayPal. Payment is due at the time services are provided.

What  is your cancellation policy?

At mighty mOThers, we understand that life happens and things come up. For the consideration of our staff and other clients, please notify us of a cancelation at least 24 hours in advance. In the event that you miss your appointment or do not provide 24 hours notice, you will be charged 100% of the session cost.

Do you treat mamas with special conditions?

Yes! If you are a special needs parent, please reach out! We have extensive experience supporting clients with a variety of chronic conditions, spinal cord and brain injury, stroke, amputation, complex medical conditions, orthopedic injuries and disorders, developmental delays, and congenital diagnoses.

Can the whole family be involved?

Absolutely! Part of your meaningful occupations include your ability to participate as an active member of your family. Plus, other family  members may benefit from collaborating and working together to get support for you and for them! We are also LBGTQ+ friendly and offer support to members of all types of family structures.

Are you licensed?

Yes! Natalie is board certified as an occupational therapist and licensed in the state of Virginia. She is also registered with the national OT organization, NBCOT, since 2009.
